Job Summary

The Service Technician is responsible for providing on-site services that support Electrozad’s Services Portfolio with process and discrete manufacturing operations specifically related to evaluating a customer’s installed assets, storeroom assets, and safety compliance as well as starting up low voltage drives, and Energy Assessment activities. This position will collaborate directly with customers to deliver "hands-on" assessments and startup activities and conducts reviews with internal and external stakeholders to inform them of findings from evaluations and identify and prioritize recommendations to achieve their goals.

  • Experience in the Industry, understanding processes and applications.
  • Demonstrate core competency around Rockwell Automation products, software, and services.
  • Understand and support the “Services-first” approach and the value of services.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities in resolving technical problems.
  • Conduct safe work practices in an industrial environment including personal protective equipment (PPE)

Qualifications/ Requirements

  • Associate of Science Degree in Engineering or Technology, or equivalent technological training (e.g., Instrumentation & Control Engineering Technology).
  • Technology or related technology driven degree.
  • 2+ years related experience of working with Industrial Control Systems including PLC, HMI/SCADA, plant historian, motor control, motion control, and  software (Rockwell or comparable platforms) in a plant environment, Strong Preference to Industrial Automation, Troubleshooting
  • Experience assessing and mitigating risk in industrial settings.
  • The ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing demands self-motivated, and work independently to work safely and independently with minimal supervision and lead or take initiative as well as being able to work well in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills.
  • Hands on experience with commercially available technology such as Microsoft excel, word, etc.,
  • Knowledge of maintenance practices, performance measures, maintenance systems and scheduling tools and techniques.
  • Thorough understanding of electrical systems and components associated standards and electrical safety.
  • Travel to customers within Windsor, Chatham, Sarnia, London Geography Required with Flexibility for Travel 75%-90%, with desired location of Residence in Windsor, Sarnia, Chatham.
  • Must be open to requests for Overtime Service, Weekend work, which is occasional.
  • Reliable Vehicle subject to reimbursement for business related expense, Valid G driver's license, and clean abstract and insurance required.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in Canada, able to travel in the USA for training.
  • Current confined space entry, first aid, WHMIS, fall protection, CSTS-09 and OSSA certifications an Asset.
  • Adhere to distributor and customer safety requirements and programs.
