We are currently looking for a goal-oriented, self-motivated individual to fill the position of Product Manager – Energy and Power Solutions reporting to the Director of Operations. The ideal candidate will have a current P. Eng designation in Electrical Engineering, and excellent problem-solving skills along with the ability to communicate effectively, meet deadlines and work well in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design of custom busbar components and drawings for fabrication with P. Eng seal. Must be an active member of a provincially recognized engineering association.
• Design and consulting on MCP builds from schematics to rough concepts all the way through the process until final approvals and drawings
• Working with technical group to support complex power distribution BOM generation, drawings, models and layouts
• Involved with the working group Energy and Power to be their technical liaison to Germany and the expert in the details behind all approvals and components
• Aid in CSA / CUL listing of Rittal Power & Energy products
• Accelerate Rittal's activities in the area of Energy & Power Solutions
• Market and trend analyses: Using current market trends as a source of new business opportunities.
• Complete competitive analyses and comparisons
• Identification of the benefit drivers for the customer and specification of the resulting product requirements
• Development of optimal product feature sets (price vs. function) and achievement of the maximum standardization
• Define product and novelty strategies to meet market requirements.
• Modularization of long-lived products – quick adaptation to individual customer requirements and changing market requirements or adaptation to local market requirements
• Partner management: Establish contacts with partner companies, strategic suppliers, universities, and other institutions.
• Product marketing: Definition of market launch packages (trade fair concepts, advertising activities, training, PR, etc.)
• Strategic partner of the regional business manager (ReBU) but can also function as a service provider.

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with eligible to practice P. Eng designation required.
• Strong technical understanding of the development of products and knowledge in the fields of mechanics and electrical engineering
• Experience with MCP/MCC builds
• Strong business knowledge (especially in the areas of marketing, controlling, market analyses)
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and make continuous improvements
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
• Ability to resolve conflicts and create win-win situations
• Strong work ethic and integrity
• High attention to detail and the ability to meet competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of various software programs including Microsoft Office Suite
• Good analytical skills and ability to think strategically.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong knowledge of cUL / CSA standards (Industrial Control Panels, Motor Controls, Switchboards)
• Industry knowledge and contacts in the "Energy & Power" environment
• French language skills would be preferred but not required.

Salary Range

• $100000 - $140000 / year
