Job Summary

The Purchasing Manager will strive to provide optimum stock availability of products competitively priced to achieve the service goals of both internal and external customers. Will work collaboratively with our sales organization and supplier partners to help deliver sustainable and consistent net revenue realization grounded in a deep understanding of the Electrical Distribution Industry leveraging the strength of the Electrozad organization.

Location

The position can be based in any of our Windsor, Sarnia, London, or Chatham branches.

Job Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all other functional areas within the company.
• Resolving issues arising out of purchase requests in the assigned product areas directly and also assisting in resolving issues arising out of all other product purchase requests.
• Authorized to commit the company on all purchases on his or her own judgment, subject to the purchasing controls in place and under the direction of the corporate purchasing manager
• Possess solid negotiating skills
• Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, customers and vendors to determine appropriate corrective action
• Manage and control freight costs on inbound and direct shipments
• Quickly perform savings calculations and relate them to specific task at hand
• Respond appropriately in pressure situations with a calm and steady demeanor
• Travel for the attendance in and conduct of presentations
• Work with Suppliers and Staff for expedite on all required purchase products
• Work with Sales/Quotations when required

Minimum Qualifications:
• College or University degree in business, purchasing or supply chain required.
• Minimum purchasing experience required: 5 - 7 years
• Management experience of 2-3 years is preferred but not required
• Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
• Thorough knowledge and experience in various computer programs, such as Microsoft Office (outlook, word, excel), Eclipse, Internet explorer.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
• Possess a high degree of professional integrity, ethics and confidentiality
• General product knowledge and ability to acquire specific product knowledge as needed and be able to communicate the same to vendors and customers
