Sales Representative, Electrical – Toronto Region

Hammond Manufacturing is a leading, global supplier of enclosures and climate control, rack/cabinets, small cases, outlet strips and electronic transformers based in Guelph, Ontario.  Our growing business has created a career opportunity within the Toronto region:

Job Summary

• To help achieve the sales expectations of Hammond Electrical product SBU
• Build strong and effective business relationships with our distribution channel and end user customers
• As a member of the Sales team, provide support to other members of that group as needed
• Based in a home office
• Some overnight travel required
• Reporting to Canadian Sales Manager.

Overall Responsibilities and Accountability

• Develop and implement a strategic annual business plan
• Meet and exceed sales budget expectations of defined territory
• Sales focus would be directed towards distribution partners, end users, OEM’s and specifying engineers
• Prospect and develop new customers and grow business with existing customers
• Develop and maintain technical expertise for products offered by the Electrical product SBU
• Contribute to the product development activities for the Electrical SBU
• Provide market and industry feedback

Critical Skills and Traits

• Minimum of 5 years outside sales experience in the electrical industry preferred
• Post-secondary education
• Strong selling, communication, presentation and negotiation skills
• Experience dealing with the electrical industry distribution channel
• Expert understanding of Hammond products
• Self-starter that can execute a defined plan and a strong team player
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
