Job Summary:

Our Mississauga office is looking for an Inside Sales Representative to develop new business opportunities while providing exceptional service to existing customers in the Winnipeg market.  The successful candidate will be a consummate and credible sale professional selling Anixter products and solutions to contractors and end-user customers.  This role is focused on new business development and is suited to people who are ‘sales hungry’ and who can exploit their exceptional sales skills with effective and successful results.  

Job Duties:

  • Identify potential customers and develop a plan to reach them
  • Close new business deals by coordinating requirements and developing and negotiating contracts
  • Uncover new opportunities and buying centers within existing accounts
  • Present Anixter to potential clients through telephone calls and emails
  • Responsible for successfully managing the sales process; lead generation, solution pitch, negotiation, close and post-sale service
  • Responsible for new and existing business.  You are expected to be autonomous however you will work in close collaboration with your supervisor for complex pitches and strategies
  • Manage and maintain a pipeline and ensure all sales administration is up to date using our software
  • Create and be accountable for all client proposals, contracts and any further documentation, following Anixter’s procedure
  • Respond to tenders and requests for information in a timely manner

Job Requirements:

Experience & Education

  • Certificate or diploma in an CET/ ICT discipline (asset)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a sales role(s)

Job-specific knowledge

  • Good knowledge of electrical wire and cable products such as medium voltage, industrial, commercial  and instrumentation cable (asset)
  • Good knowledge of electronic wire and cable products such as multi conductor and fire alarm(asset)
  • Understanding of electrical products that are used to install cabling solutions
  • Understanding of security and audio and video cabling solutions (asset)
  • Microsoft office and Lotus Notes
  • Excellent ability to communicate in English (written and spoken)
