Job Summary:

We are currently looking for a District Sales Manager – Ontario North (Sudbury / Thunder Bay) to join our Electrical & Electronic Solutions team, with a primary objective of leading company sales growth.  This individual will be responsible for working with the inside and outside sales teams to manage existing account relationships, lead sales strategies, and bring in new customer business.

We need an individual capable of leading and contributing to sales growth through directed strategies, management of sales activities and exceptional customer service.  This opportunity is perfect for an experienced sales professional with a proven track record in sales growth who is looking for a new challenge.

Job duties

  • Provide Inside Sales Reps with tools required for their success in managing our customer base
  • Coordinate and organize regular sales meetings
  • Prepare and provide reports as required
  • Prepare budgets for territory, set up special pricing on bids and authorize expenditures on product samples and invoice adjustments
  • Achieve and exceed quarterly/annual sales targets within assigned territory
  • Develop and execute strategic plan to achieve sales targets and to expand the company’s customer base
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
  • Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives
  • Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations
  • Represent the company’s business policies in various conferences, trade fairs, and networking events to attract more clients
  • Maintain and develop our existing accounts
  • Seek out new customers and sales opportunities; Occasionally perform cold calls and prospecting and travel with Reps to key customer accounts
  • Work closely with all Outside and Inside Sales Reps
  • Obtain contract pricing for customers and resolve customer complaints and issues as required
  • Manage and be actively involved with the coaching, mentoring, career development, training, and performance management of Reps
  • Be actively involved in interviewing and hiring new Reps
  • Frequent travel within Northern Ontario and occasional North American travel will be required

 

Job Requirements:

Reporting directly to the Regional Vice President, the successful candidate for this position will possess:

Experience & Education:

  • Diploma or degree in Business Administration is considered an asset
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in managing and building successful sales teams
  • Experience selling wire and cable solutions to End-Users and/or Contractors

Job-specific knowledge:

  • Good knowledge of electrical and electronic wire and cable products
  • Good knowledge of security, audio and video cabling solutions
  • Microsoft office software’s (Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent ability to communicate in English (written and verbal)
