Role Overview:

The Specification Sales Representative promotes and sells products to new and current clients, including engineers, contractors, distributors and end users, to ensure the highest customer satisfaction.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  (%)

  1. Research and search within the Specification market for potential clients, customers and competitors’ products, pricing, and customer service to ensure the company stays ahead and relevant (40%)
  2. Meet with engineers, contractors and end users to determine their project needs and distribution customers to obtain their customers’ needs, and meet with inspection agencies and contractors to ensure product acceptance (25%)
  3. Meet with distribution customers to identify their customers’ needs (5%)
  4. Prepare weekly 555 reports by summarizing results of past week’s five actions, and stating five new actions for the week. CRM participation required when implemented. (5%)
  5. Promote, and educate customers of company products through presentations, flyers, and marketing strategies and tools (5%)
  6. Analyze sales trends to determine potential sales opportunities (5%)
  7. Assist the Customer Service Representatives with cross references, market levels, and quotes (5%)
  8. Attend trade shows and industry functions to promote the company and its products to current and potential clients (5%)
  9. Review short and long term goals, including goals stated in the 555 reports and performance goals, to ensure they are being met (5%)

 

Position Requirements:

 

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum vocational /technical/business school preferably related to electrical fields
  • Minimum of 5 years in sales
  • Clean driving record
  • E.T. accreditation preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Above average written and oral communication skills
  • Above average mathematical ability
  • Attention to detail, Organization and prioritization of tasks
  • Customer focus and Interpersonal savvy
  • Microsoft Office (create and modify Word documents, create and modify basic spreadsheets on Excel create and modify PowerPoint presentations)
  • Negotiation and persuasive speaking skills
  • Strong presentation skills, one on one or in a group
  • Resourceful, quick study on Product knowledge
  • Work individually and in a team with a creative entrepreneurial spirit
