We are looking to fill the position of Credit Manager, who, under the direction of the Vice President Finance, will be responsible for pro-actively managing our Customer Credit department, ensuring acceptable levels of corporate exposure while maintaining customer satisfaction as well as the efficient and effective operation of the day to day credit transaction flow of the business.

We are open to candidates who live in either Windsor, Sarnia, or London. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review, analyze and render decisions on the credit worthiness of new and existing customers
  • Participate in building out the Credit Department to match the growth of the company
  • Consider, recommend and when appropriate, implement efficiencies and improved systems and processes
  • Maintain and ensure the consistent application of our corporate Credit Policy and recommend updates/changes to the Executive Management Team
  • Lead credit & collections activities in line with Company expectations, including credit approvals, risk management and pursuing timely collections
  • Determine appropriate collection or conservatory action for problem accounts, where necessary ensure proper security, litigation and/or handling bankruptcy proceedings
  • Problem solve with customers to provide win-win solutions to all credit situations
  • Establish and maintain close working relationship with all members of the sales team to assist them with maximizing customer profitability while ensuring adherence to credit policies
  • Evaluate and determine the adequacy of the Bad Debt Reserve, and recommend adjustments as required
  • Perform ongoing monitoring functions, including monitoring and maintaining appropriate credit limits for established accounts; monitoring local and regional economic conditions as well as customer and industry trends; and monitor continuously the aging of accounts for customers in all our market areas to ensure adequate actions being taken
  • Manage risk and exposure in accounts receivable at all times
  • Maximize efficiency of overall credit/collections function and performance of all parties
  • Manage relationships with credit agencies and legal council
  • Participate in meetings of credit managers in the electrical industry
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • A post-secondary education or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of credit underwriting, administration, and monitoring practices
  • Self-direction and excellent judgement with a balance between risk management and sales support
  • Excellent Professional verbal, written and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • A team player with a positive attitude and highly motivated
  • Interest in pursuing a CCP designation or completion of the CCP is desirable
