Vice President, Sales

Overview:

We are looking for a leader for our Sales operations across Canada and the United States. This leadership opportunity will see you leading the sales function with an aim to maximize sales volumes and revenues across the assigned regions. This role reports to the President and is responsible for:

Responsibilities:

  • Develop sales strategies based on segmentation, customer centricity and market conditions.
  • Ensure sales strategy and action plans align with and support the company’s vision and goals.
  • Prepare annual sales forecast, manage monthly forecasting & review quarterly regional reports.
  • Establish and develop an effective network while growing key strategic relationships with existing and potential distributors.
  • Manage and review the performance of distributors and sales agents.
  • Contribute to marketing plan through inputs on product prices, product mix and sales priorities.
  • Accountable for negotiating contracts and prices within the limits of the approved sales goals.
  • Ensure uncompromised implementation of RAB’s sales process, quality and service standards.
  • Report on compliance issues of quality and regulatory aspects, for leadership review.
  • Lead, coach, direct and motivate the sales team.
  • Establish and maintain sales team performance standards, set goals, define development needs, provide ongoing, timely feedback and periodic formal performance evaluations as per company guidelines.
  • Build and manage sales capabilities and sales talent.

To succeed in this role, you will have many of the skills and experience listed below:

  • A University Degree in Business or related area.
  • 7 to 10 years relevant experience with solid track record in sales, preferably in the electrical industry.
  • 4 to 6 years of people management experience, preferably managing sales teams.
  • Business travel (50%).
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Solid negotiation and selling skills.
  • Good organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to interact with a variety of internal and external customers.
