Gerrie Electric, one of Ontario’s largest independent electrical distributors has an opening for a motivated individual to join our growing team.  

Automation Software Product Manager – Burlington (Central Region) 

This position is part of the Automation Group and is responsible for promoting, marketing, executing sales and providing support of Automation solutions to customers.     

Responsibilities:   

-Execute effective analysis of market conditions   

-Display keen understanding of competitive forces, market share and opportunities for growth   

-Develop and successfully implement business plans   

-Act as a technical resource for customers   

-Work collaboratively and provide support to account managers   

-Provide training to internal staff on the sales and commercial aspects of products, including features, benefits, applications and markets  

-Promote the value-add of product line in competitive situations   

-Actively promote products at trade shows, customer seminars and other promotions as a way to increase customer awareness of product capabilities   

-Identify and demonstrate technology solutions for customer applications   

-Willingness and interest to participate in ongoing training to maintain technical competency in Automation product areas   

Requirements:   

-Must be a graduate of a 3 year electrical/electronic technology program with an emphasis on Automation   

-Experience working in an Automation field is a definite asset   

-Proven success defining and growing new markets   

-Comprehensive knowledge of Automation product lines   

-Strategically minded with strong presentation, communication and relationship-building skills   

-Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines   

-Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
