The Role:

The 
Manager, Human Resources - People & Cultureprovides strategic leadership, direction and oversight for the development, implementation, and evaluation of human capital programs, processes and strategies to promote alignment between human resources, organizational strategy and objectives, all combined with day to day execution. The role requires strategic thinking, strong communication skills, effective relationship building, sense of ownership and accountability, as well as solid business acumen.

What you’ll be working on:

  • Development of HR policies and processes, which reflect best practices and support the diversity of our workforce. It will involve working effectively with senior leadership and stakeholders to identify opportunities to continuously improve the ways that HR supports the organization and its employees.
  • Provide advice and guidance to senior management on a wide range of HR, organization and employment related issues, trends, best practices and legislative requirements
  • Develop and implement a talent management strategy including recruitment and succession planning that is aligned to Electrozad’s strategies on learning and development and ensures the appropriate pipeline of talent to support the organization’s strategy
  • Develop and administer a forward-thinking performance management program including professional development, recognition, training and review process that promotes excellence and drives on-going, multi-directional feedback
  • Create detailed job descriptions and analyse KPI’s for all positions and propose strategies to improve employee accountability, engagement, morale, productivity and retention.
  • Lead the payroll and benefits administration functions; ensuring timely, accurate payroll and benefits administration that meet the needs of the workforce
  • Manage and execute full cycle recruitment process, including supporting the management teams in developing job descriptions, job postings, conducting interviews, produce offer letters, onboarding, terminations, and exit interviews ensuring equitable practices
  • Ensuring the appropriate maintenance, quality and security of HR employee records
  • Protecting Electrozad from potential litigation by monitoring and ensuring that all human resources, payroll and occupational health and safety policies and practices are in compliance with applicable legislation and appropriate risk management strategies are in place
  • Partnering with internal stakeholders (including the JHSC) to contribute to the development of a strong safety culture
  • Overseeing the budget for the HR Department including input into the annual budget development as well as monitoring and approving expenditures ensuring that submissions are appropriate, complete and fall within the expenditure framework

Qualifications/Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be a catalyst for our culture, has a successful record of growing people and the ability to influence and drive change.

  • 5+ years of in an HR leadership role
  • A bachelor's degree in Human resource management, business administration, commerce or other applicable field
  • Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) or working toward CHRL
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in all HR functions including compensation, payroll and benefits, job evaluation, performance management and employee relations
  • Well-developed organization competencies in strategic planning and implementation; financial management; and an ability to develop annual HR Key Performance Indicators for the Company.
  • Experience in program leadership relating to people, strategy, financial and resource utilization
  • Experience providing advice and support to senior leadership within the organization
  • Must have a solid working knowledge of the Employment Standards Act (ESA), health and safety, and labour legislation
  • Highly organized with multitasking ability
