Regional Project Quotations Specialist - Northern Ontario

Responsibilities:

As a Regional Project Quotations Specialist based in Northern Ontario you will: 

  • Have responsibility to prepare and complete project quotations for our clients in Northern Ontario (Sault, Ste Marie, Sudbury, Timmins, Kirkland Lake, North Bay, Orillia, Bracebridge and Barrie).
  • Quote all new jobs that are out for tender and determine if specifications are achievable and within scope.
  • Obtain requests for quotes from electrical contractors, end users and sales representatives and coordinate the layout of the specifications.  This will include electrical take-offs from single line diagrams as well as putting lighting and distribution packages together.
  • This may also include submitting packages through a customer portal or online submittal tool.  Communication, RFI’s and responses may need to be funneled through that tool efficiently and effectively.
  • Investigate manufacturer coverage and negotiate with a variety of suppliers to obtain pricing terms and delivery schedules.
  • Ensure that delivery deadlines are observed and received according to the terms of the contract. 
  • Act as a liaison with our vendors, agents, contractors and internal staff.
  • Negotiate with key suppliers to obtain project pricing.

The successful candidate must be able to work independently, possess excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills and be able to work within tight deadlines.

Skills & Qualifications:

Applicants for this position should have the following qualifications: 

  • 2 - 3 years of project quotations / project coordination or related experience.
  • Grade 12 education (or equivalent.)
  • Product knowledge of the electrical business is essential.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
