What you will be doing

The Director of Branch Operations will collaborate with branch and departmental managers to create operational budgets and develop related business plans. This role will also be responsible for helping to update and develop corporate policies as needed. The ideal candidate possesses proven leadership skills, as well as a strong ability to problem solve and make sound decisions that encourages corporate growth. This Senior Leader is responsible for providing strategic operational expertise to the organization. 

Performance Management 

Provide input to, or develop performance monitoring strategies and tools, then implement, to monitor day to day operational systems and processes that provide visibility into company goals. Track progress and obstacles for our key initiatives. Use data to analyze trends and develop proactive actions. 

 Develop/manage continuous improvement activities across the Branch operations function.  Actively engage in utilizing best practices (5s, Lean, Kaizen) to increase efficiency and reduce costs.  Develop strategies to ensure growth of programs and identify and implement process improvements that will improve our efficiency, align with company sales goals and targets, and maintain our level of quality in customer success and execution.  

 Leadership 

Provide Leadership and Direction to your team through regular meetings and performance management to ensure your team meets their goals. 

 Participate and provide input to managers regarding hiring, performance reviews and goal setting for operational roles. 

 Work with the Senior Leadership Team to initiate and develop strategies that support the overall company goals and objectives. 

 Inventory Management (Not DC) 

 Responsible for managing inventory levels across operating branches, aligned with the overall company goals. 

Responsible to ensure ROPs and Reassigns are completed as required. 

Responsible for operating branches inventory turns and fill rates. 

Responsible to ensure cycle counting is completed as per requirements. 

Plan, supervise, schedule, and execute annual physical inventory and cycle counts as required. 

 Quality Objectives

 Responsible for overseeing all aspects of Quality, Quality Objectives and ISO ensuring all processes and procedures are adhered to including health and safety and follow up when not in compliance.  

 Responsible to ensure the criteria in the “Branch Inspection Report” are adhered to, are completed as required and follow up when not in compliance. 

Responsible to ensure health and safety audits are completed as required and follow up when not in compliance. 

 Marketing 

 Responsible to ensure Branch Manager holds Branch Marketing Champions accountable for ensuring all promotions, layouts, displays etc. are visible and completed in a timely manner. 

 Facility Management 

Plan and forecast capital expenditures and annual expenses for next fiscal year. 

Responsible for, but not limited to all branch renovations, branch relocations, expansions, maintenance, and operations across all facilities, prepare budgets and assist in leases.  

Communication 

 Establish and maintain positive collaborative relationship with other Gerrie Leadership, Managers and Departments to improve working relationships, build morale, and increase productivity. 

 Perform continuous evaluation, development and execution of policies and programs.  

 Personal Development

 Participate in conferences, seminars, and other educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintain and participate in professional networks to enhance your knowledge and skills. 

 Participates on committees and special projects as requested. 

What you bring to the table

Education 

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or supply Chain designation or equivalent experience. 

Experience 

7+ years Relevant Management Experience. 

10 years of Operations experience.  

Prior experience in setting operational targets, metrics.  

Strong leadership skills and the ability to interact with all levels of management.  

Proven success in executing continuous improvement programs, experience in Lean, 5S and other tools.  Strong ability to drive improvement plans.  Excellent process-oriented individual with superior verbal and written communication skills.  Strong analytical and computer skills including MS Office and JDE with strong working knowledge of data analysis. 

Strong project management skills and meet deadlines.
