Strategic Vendor Relations Manager

Position Summary

To establish relationships and expand the ShawFlex supplier base to improve supply chain security, cost negotiation leverage, business performance and operational efficiency.  Areas of focus will be for short, medium, and long terms solutions within the supply chain to ensure security of supply in key areas, examples are, but not limited to, Copper Tape, copper wire and resin supply. To diversify current supply based for items above ensuring supply is sustainable for the long term.

Responsibilities

Supply Chain Strengthening

• Identify and support any new vendor relationships to source and secure raw materials, following company approved vendor approval process. Implement supplier programs and strategies as appropriate to optimize competition.
• Develop supply agreements with strategic vendors of raw materials to ensure competitive advantage in price and favorable terms and conditions of sale.
• Work with Sales and Marketing on strategic growth opportunities that we currently do not participate in due to supply base. Research and provide supplier product information to support new opportunities.
• Complete a general Supply Chain Assessment of current vendor base and provide insight and contact information regarding potential alternate sources of supply for primary raw materials with focus on single sourced raw materials.
• Perform spend analysis to understand purchasing trends and areas of opportunity.  Support and offer input in cost reduction and compliance initiatives.

Administrative Tasks

• Update VP & GM bi-weekly on implementation progress, providing an overview of strategies that increase the efficiency and speed of supply operations
• Provide monthly status report show casing special project progress and estimated timelines for completion.
