Southwire Job Description

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Targeting Canadian Electrical Contractors, EPC’s, and Engineering Consultants to grow awareness on Southwire’s innovative product and Solution offerings. 
• Establish and maintain relationship with all potential customers to drive specification and increase Southwire’s market share, grow the revenue, and profit. 
• Construction site visits to train, update and support electrical contractors and installer. As well as qualifying the job requirements and showing the best Southwire solution offerings to meet or exceed the expectations. 
• Be a field resource in the development of new products and Solutions to Southwire, and fully support the sales and product management teams. 
• Proficient with contractor tools: Configurator Plus, Contractor Pulling Calculator, Contractor mobile apps, Sales Force, and ability to assist in the development of future solution tools. 
• Receive, acknowledge, and process customer requests in a timely manner as it relates to Southwire Solutions. 
• Strong knowledge in Solutions to drive specification of Southwire Solutions at targeted contractors. 
• Share best practices with contractors to ensure jobsite pulls are performed with Safety as the top priority. (Must be OSHA certified or equivalent). 
• Provide field support for Southwire Solutions through sales calls and training opportunities. 
• Must be able to travel and adjust to changing schedules and deadlines as needed to meet contractor job requirements. 
• Perform well in a team environment as well as work independently with little direct supervision. 
• Support, improve, and create new processes for project management and order flow of Southwire Solution business. 
• Monitor and report to management success of Southwire Solution sales, project hit rate % and revenue generated using Sales Force, and work closely with other team members and provide support as needed 
• Make Southwire the supplier of choice to all targeted customers, and increase volume sales and profit margin 
• Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.  

Qualifications: 

• An undergraduate degree/diploma and/ or 7+ years industry experience directly related to wire and cable sales required. 
• 5 + years directly related experience in commercial construction, project management, or electrical projects. 
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Applications including Excel, PowerPoint and Word is required. Sales Force and SAP experience preferred. 
• Applicant must possess excellent organizational and project management abilities, along with exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. 
• Fluency in both English and French languages is a mandatory requirement for this job position. 
• Ability to lift 75 lbs. and be able to travel (50% – 70%).
