As a Test Engineer, you play an essential role in ensuring the compliance and safety of our products! You contribute to ABB's product development and marketing strategies by managing the test activities of our certification laboratories. You participate in the activities of evolution of the standards of our products.

Your responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and perform certification tests according to applicable standards and using predefined methods.
  • Conduct compliance verification tests.
  • Write test reports including analysis of data and results.
  • Manage laboratory activities to maintain the qualifications obtained from external agencies (ISO17025, instrument calibration, etc.).
  • In collaboration with product engineers, participate in the creation and updating of product certification files.
  • Participate in the support of inspections by certification agencies. Provide project status reports to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Keep your knowledge of applicable standards up to date.

Your background

  • Degree in a technical discipline, mechanical specialization or other relevant field.
  • Experience in the use of various measuring equipment used in a laboratory environment (tests).
  • Ability to communicate and build professional relationships with internal and external clients (English and French).
  • Ability to plan and supervise multiple test projects with all related activities involved and ability to act as a technical resource.
  • Allow approximately 10% for business travel.
  • Asset: Experience working with certification bodies (UL, CSA, etc.)
  • Asset: Knowledge of electrical product safety standards (UL and CSA).
