Summary:

Identify opportunities to build new relationships with new customers in existing and new market areas (specifically, OEM & Industrial areas), and manage a portfolio of existing customers:

  • Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of all Southwire's products and services.
  • Initiate and coordinate development of action plans to penetrate new markets.
  • Plan and organizes sales strategy by maximizing the Return on Time Investment for the territory/ segment.
  • Create and manages a customer value plan for existing and prospective customers.
  • Maintain contact through phone calls, face-to-face meetings, branch meetings, manager visits, and through general correspondence with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate products and services to customers and assists them in selecting those best suited to their needs.

Manages portfolio of existing customers

  • Seek, build and maintain a portfolio of business contacts, leads, prospective customers and corporate accounts.
  • Promote/sell/secure orders from existing customers through a relationship-based approach.
  • Maintain contact through phone calls, face-to-face meetings, branch meetings, manager visits, and through general correspondence with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Develop relationships through meetings, events, and social activities with clients
  • Broaden knowledge of our products and their capabilities versus the strengths/weaknesses of competitive products.
  • Continuing to position Southwire in clients’ books of business, strengthening relationships and increasing clients’ books through prudent advice and information sharing.
  • Create and manages a customer value plan for existing customers highlighting profile, share and value opportunities.
  • Develop or work with Pricing Analysts to present clear and effective written proposals/quotations
  • Assist the Sales team with closing deals and other initiatives and provide assistance to the Marketing team on various campaigns, promotions, projects, and initiatives.
  • Facilitate the Development and Growth of Alliance Customers.
  • Identify cost saving measures across all alliance customers departments.
  • Research various tendering websites and customer websites to identify opportunities.
  • Regularly achieve and report on set personal [weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual] quotas and targets for cold calls, new contacts, successfully completed deals, and sales and revenue generation.
  • Consistently focus on having a value-added sales approach.
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints.
  • Prepare and do technical and/or commercial presentations.
  • Prepare and attend Trade Shows.

 Ensures consistent, profitable growth in sales revenues through positive planning, deployment, and management of sales initiatives:

  • Identify objectives, strategies, and action plans to improve short- and long-term sales and earnings.
  • Analyze the territory/market's potential and determines the value of existing and prospective customers value to the organization.
  • Identify competition, market trends, and growth opportunities 

Assumes technical responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise on specifications, application, installation, and use of W&C products to customers for OEM applications.
  • Provide technical training to customers and sales personnel.

Business support and administration:

  • Follow-up to ensure orders are processed correctly, information is accurate, customer's needs are met, and that complaints, issues, and problems are resolved quickly and effectively.
  • Provide timely feedback with oral and written reports to senior management regarding information and performance on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
  • Facilitate the flow of information between the customer and inside sales support at all time.
  • Have an understanding of manufacturing inventory management systems.

What you'll need to bring to the table:

  • Sc. Engineering, preferably Electrical.
  • Previous experience (8-10 years preferred) in a technical sales position.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) an asset
  • Ability to travel within Canada.
  • Ability to plan, organize and manage large-scale projects, sales plans and initiatives to develop new business and increase existing business.
  • Strong focus on providing excellent customer service with the ability to close deals and manage relationships and accounts.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, as well as relationship building skills.
  • Ability to partner with management, key stakeholders, and the Sales team to plan and coordinate activities related to effective account management and align them to overall goals, objectives, and strategies.
  • Ability to present new product/concepts to the marketplace.
  • Ability to prepare proposals and conduct negotiations regarding pricing, terms, and delivery details
  • Ability to effectively research, collect, and analyze large amounts of data in order to identify trends and gaps and develop strategies to focus sales initiatives and manage accounts to minimize risk.
