Job Summary

We are currently hiring a Quality Assurance Inspector. Reporting to the Supervisor – Quality Assurance, the successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting and testing S&C products, implementing calibration processes, and providing technical support. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills with a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Inspect and test S&C products in accordance with established specifications, standards, and procedures
  • Manage overall calibration and maintenance of S&C Inspection and Measuring and Test equipment
  • Implement accurate, effective, and resourceful calibration support processes
  • Provide technical support to shop floor manufacturing team members, when required
  • Complete quality documentation related to product inspections
  • Ensure that product quality meets industry standards and expectations of S&C’s customers

Qualifications

  • College Diploma in trades or a relevant technical field
  • 2 years of experience working in Quality Assurance within manufacturing, preferably in the Electrical, Mechanical, or Electromechanical industry
  • 2 years of experience performing inspection and calibration
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of metrology and calibration
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical assembly drawings and electrical schematic drawings
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point
  • Education or training related to the high voltage industry would be an asset
  • Certified Calibration Technician would be a strong asset 
  • The successful candidate is a team player with strong communication and prioritization skills. The QA Inspector must also have an eye for detail with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. A high degree of attention and concentration is also required as QA Inspectors are required to work around fast-moving mechanical components and are exposed to high and low voltage equipment.

Working Conditions

The working conditions are similar to those that can be found in a manufacturing plant. QA Inspectors are sometimes required to stand for long periods of time to inspect S&C products. QA Inspectors are also required to work with fast-moving mechanical components and are exposed to high and low voltage equipment.
