We currently have an opening for a Product Solutions Manager come grow with us!  For this position, there is the opportunity for candidates to work from our locations in Guleph, Ontario or North Huntingdon, PA.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Product Manager is responsible for a line of HPS power quality offerings in all major respects including: defining product requirements, pricing, promotion and target markets/channels. The person in this role works collaboratively with other Marketing team members, Engineering, Sales and other functional groups to achieve objectives related to sales, profitability and over-all strategic goals.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Translates market needs into winning products by conducting market research, defining target markers, understanding customer needs and creating market requirements document (MRD).
  • Ensures product success (Launch to Obsolescence) by outlining product roadmap (jointly with engineering), establishing product pricing (initial/on-going maintenance), defining margin goals/management, performing product line analysis to ensure key metrics are achieved, collating competitor analysis to ensure key metrics are achieved, collating competitor analysis, formulating HPS’ response and managing product enhancements to existing offering as needed, aligning sales forecast with inventory requirements, and coordinating product obsolescence activities.
  • Coordinates launch activities with Sales and MARCOM by, creating product collateral (with assistance from MARCOM), managing set-up of product information within on-line tools (internet, extranet, intranet, and E-Quotes), defining initial product inventory requirements, ensuring market success through measured market tactics and supporting Sales and Channel through pre and post-launch activities.
  • Ensures effective product capabilities promotion by clearly outlining features and benefits of products as well as HPS capabilities, defining where to promote (target markets) and how (potential media types), assisting MARCOM with product collateral maintenance and supporting HPS presence at trade events (both pre-event planning and on-site).
  • Supports various internal (sales, customer service) and external (end-customers, channel partners).

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required Degree or Diploma in Engineering or Technologist, ideally Electrical
  • Preferred Additional business training (MBA or Marketing)
  • 6 to 8 years’ experience, preferably in the Electrical Industry
  • Power quality
  • Sound communication skills required (verbal and written)
  • Microsoft Office fluency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Able to establish rapport with customers (internal and external)
  • Analytical capabilities
  • System knowledge (ERP, CRM)
  • Solid product management fundamentals
