We are currently seeking a full-time Codes & Standards Business Section Manager to work with existing manufacturer members to help develop industry proposals on codes, standards, and regulations. This position is hybrid and requires time in the office. Head office is at 190 Attwell Avenue, Toronto, Ontario.

The position will manage various business sections representing specific product categories within EFC’s manufacturing community.  The main outputs of business sections include industry positions on codes, standards, and regulations.  The business section manager will also provide input into EFC’s general advocacy around climate change initiatives relevant to their product categories. The individual will participate in key strategic committees related to standards development, the CE Code, and electrical safety.   In addition, collaboration with EFC’s marketing and statistics departments will facilitate business section requests for communications and market intelligence.

Electro-Federation Canada Business Sections Manager

Under the supervision of the Director of Standards and Government Affairs, the duties and responsibilities of the Business Sections Manager include, but are not limited to, the following:

·         Responsible for the management of EFC’s business sections including meetings facilitation and project management, and related administration.

·         Develop and maintain business sections reporting documentation.

·         Coordinate industry responses as it relates to codes, standards, and regulations or government bodies.

·         Participate on Standards development and strategic committees were necessary and beneficial to EFC Members.  

·         Liaison and facilitate project with key industry stakeholders.

·         Collaborate with marketing on required communications projects generated from business section requests.

·         Collaborate with statistics department to facilitate market intelligence requests.

·         Collaborate with membership department to facilitate member engagement and section recruitment. 

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

·      Bachelor’s Degree or diploma Engineering or Certified Engineering Technologist.

·      Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of relevant work experience.

·      Strong technical aptitude, coupled with the ability to elucidate and convey technical details effectively. 

·      An ideal candidate will possess robust project management skills.

·      Ability to organize, prioritize and follow through on important projects.

·      The candidate should naturally excel as a facilitator, adept at fostering consensus among stakeholders.

·      Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

·      Experience with energy efficient solutions an asset.

·      Experience with CE Code or Standards development considered an asset.

·      Experience with virtual and in person meeting facilitation and consensus building.

·      Self-starter with a curious and analytical mindset.

·      Ability to work independently and in a team environment, working with cross-functional teams.

·      Strong attention to detail.

·      Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including PowerPoint, word and excel
