TECO-Westinghouse Motors is a leading supplier of Electric Motors and Variable Frequency Drives. Our current rapid growth demands have created the following full-time opportunity in our Cambridge, Ontario location:

Shipper/Receiver (F/T)

General Overview
Receives, stores and ships electric motors and controls products using our forklift and reach truck equipment.

You are a highly organized individual with good customer service skills, you take initiative in assisting internal and external customers. Your time management skills are outstanding and you thrive in a busy environment and ensures that safety is always top of mind.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Unload products from containers and inspect for any visual damage. Coordinate with the logistics department to file damage claims as necessary.
  • Open boxes and verify the quantity of materials against packing lists to identify any shortages.
  • Organize products by location numbers and maintain accurate records for easy retrieval.
  • Pick products for customer orders and transfers to other warehouses, ensuring to record serial numbers.
  • Schedule deliveries with carriers and transport services, while accurately completing Bill of Lading (BOL) and Waybill documentation. Scan shipping documents for invoicing purposes.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing department to address any issues or discrepancies related to received goods.
  • Log information on receiving, storing, and issuing items, and communicate these details to purchasing.
  • Support the Operations department in coordinating maintenance tasks within the facility as needed.
  • Nameplate engraving and installation
  • Repair damaged wooden crates and re-crate goods.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the warehouse by regularly sweeping the concrete floors.
  • Comply with all company policies, including Company Standards, the Affirmative Action Plan, and Safety procedures.
  • Integrate the Standards of Excellence set by TECO-Westinghouse Motors (Pride, Desire, Teamwork, Attention to Detail, and Follow-through) into daily tasks to foster a Total Quality environment through a commitment to excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Regular attendance is essential for this role.

 

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED, with up to two years of experience in shipping or warehousing; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Certification as a forklift operator for both counter-balance forklifts and stand-up reach trucks is required.
  • Proficiency with MS Office products (MS Outlook)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a deadline driven environment. 
  • Strong attention to details and able to follow safety procedures.
