The Role:

The Purchasing Manager will strive to provide optimum stock availability of products competitively priced to achieve the service goals of both internal and external customers. Will work collaboratively with our sales organization and supplier partners to help deliver sustainable and consistent net revenue realization grounded in a deep understanding of the Electrical Distribution Industry leveraging the strength of the Electrozad organization. The role requires strategic thinking, strong communication skills, effective relationship building, sense of ownership & accountability, as well as solid analytical acumen.

What you’ll be working on:

  • Leading and providing direction to the purchasing team on order management and managing inventory
  • Management of all product attributed data and product related files in Epicor Eclipse ERP system
  • Providing policies and reviewing existing policies to meet goals of inventory availability, maintaining optimal stock levels, and internal requirements
  • Support supplier evaluation, selection, and management ensuring suppliers are able to meet requirements for quality, on-time delivery, price, supply methodology and payment terms.
  • Support negotiations around pricing, delivery requirements, and quantities with suppliers striving for cost reduction opportunities and ensures level of inventory is optimized
  • Ensures accurate and timely forecasting is being provided to key suppliers and regular review and monitoring of purchase levels to optimise supplier rebate programs
  • Manages status and update purchase order and vendor related information in Epicor Eclipse database
  • Proactively contributes to and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participate in the recruitment process for any hiring of new team members
  • Providing guidance and coaching to direct reports and participating in the performance management process
  • Negotiate with Suppliers for returns and exchanges advise sales of terms and conditions, negotiate return of obsolete or slow-moving material and purchase new product if required ensure rotation of stock, review re-order points, minimize freight costs
  • Manage the development and execution of our supply chain strategies and continue to develop our connected supply chain initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with all internal and external partners, including suppliers, logistics providers, internal operations, and customers to achieve targets and related metrics

Qualifications/Requirements

Who’s a good fit for the team:

The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of end-to-end supply chain management (i.e.: demand planning, inventory optimization, data analytics, integrated operations planning), and possesses:

  • 5+ years of purchasing management experience
  • A bachelor's degree or college diploma in business administration, commerce or other applicable field
  • Supply Chain Management Professional (S.C.M.P.) designation
  • Product knowledge of industrial and commercial electrical and related items
  • Business leader, diligent, independent process thinker
  • Highly organized with multitasking ability
  • Interest/Understanding of market dynamics and business impact thereof
  • Ability to gather and analyse data
  • Skills with Access or SQL will be considered an asset to the position.
  • Strong overall use of Microsoft Suite of products is required a higher level of Excel use is a specific requirement being experience with formulas/pivot tables/macros to create various data extracts and imports.
