Description

We are looking for an electrical technician to evaluate and assemble equipment per clients’ specifications. As an Electronic Assembly Technician, reporting to the VC Supervisor, you would be responsible for the electrical and mechanical assembly of electrical control panels and the identification of potential problems in design. To be successful in this role, you should be able to read electrical system design plans and wiring diagrams. This position is in Milton, ON. This is a 1-year contract with possibility of extension. 

Responsibilities

  • Effectively interpret terminal strip assembly layouts, electrical arrangement drawings and connection wiring diagrams.
  • Use profile and din rail-cutters to cut custom length rails and cable ducts.
  • Punch stamping holes and slots into din rail.
  • Produce terminal strip rail assemblies, plug connections and various parts kits.
  • Panel fabrication with mounting on back plates and installation into enclosures.
  • Manufacture cable harnesses and wiring assemblies.
  • Using design software to produce custom markers and labels on printing devices.
  • Perform inspections on completed orders.
  • Use MRP system to report the completion production orders
  • Ability to understand schematics and present alternative solutions if necessary to improve the design
  • Ability to perform a variety of complex tasks requiring knowledge of panel assembly/fabrication techniques.
  • Any other duties as assigned by manager.

Qualification Requirements

  • Electronics/Electrical vocational education or another equivalent required
  • 1-2 years of experience in panel building or shop floor environment.
  • Having a mechanical aptitude, experience with hand and power tools is required
  • Must be available to work outside of regular hours to help when volumes are high
  • Working knowledge of computers and basic software
