We currently have an outstanding opportunity in our Richmond location for a highly motivated team player as a Customer Service Representative to position and support Account Representatives to sell the ECS brand, products and services to the British Columbia marketplace.  This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in learning about a career in selling into the wire and cable market!

The CSR supports the Sales team with customer service inquiries and administration functions.  Below are key functions that the CSR is responsible for in their role to support the Sales team.

Sales Support duties:

  • Answer phones and respond to customer inquiries/assist with quotes
  • Greet suppliers and customers when required
  • Develop, review and document incoming opportunities and coordinate action with the Sales staff
  • Coordinate, review and follow-up on sales activity with Outside Sales Representative
  • Source non-stock material through Supplier Reference Guide and guidelines as wet out by the Branch Manager
  • Submit feedback on lost sales due to no stock, customer changes that could affect min/max levels, large orders that take stock below min. etc.

Administration duties:

  • Assist Branch Manager and Sales Representatives with administration support as required
  • Control backorders, enter stock transfer requests and review sales orders daily
  • Assist with physical count of company inventories
  • Coordinate and execute quotes/sales orders
  • Assist with assigned 'merchandising' or 'counter sales' duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of customer service interaction experience
  • Preferred experience in MS Office or willingness to learn
  • Exposure to Rubicon (or other ERP), or willingness to learn
  • Basic cable and wire knowledge, or willingness to learn
  • Demonstrate judgement, tact and diplomacy in dealing with internal and external customers
  • Must be enthusiastic, have a positive attitude and has the ability to perform as a team player
  • Good interpersonal/communication skills, adaptable and with problem-solving capabilities
