Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Junior Buyer will be based in Mississauga, Ontario.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Buyer / Expeditor to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate will assist in the procurement process by ensuring timely and accurate ordering, expediting deliveries, and managing stock transfers between locations. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Procurement Support
    • Assist in placing purchase orders for goods and services based on requisitions and inventory requirements.
    • Collaborate with vendors to confirm orders, negotiate pricing, and track order status.
    • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and delivery timelines.
  • Expediting of Deliveries
    • Monitor and expedite deliveries to ensure timely arrival of goods.
    • Communicate with suppliers and freight forwarders to resolve delays or issues with shipments.
    • Coordinate with internal teams to schedule receipt and inspection of incoming materials.
  • Stock Transfer Management
    • Facilitate transfers of stock between warehouses or locations as per inventory needs.
    • Coordinate logistics and documentation for stock movements.
    • Ensure accurate recording of stock transfers in inventory systems.
    • Work cross- functionally between purchasing and operations.

  

  • Vendor Relationship Management
    • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors as needed.
    • Communicate effectively to resolve discrepancies, quality issues, or changes in order specifications.
  • Inventory Control
    • Assist in maintaining optimal inventory levels through regular monitoring and analysis.
    • Conduct periodic stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Prepare reports on procurement activities and delivery performance.
    • Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment

What Will You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is a plus
  • Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles is preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook or similar tools
  • Keen attention to detail and strong sense of urgency when required
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic work environment
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
