Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Production Planner for our Production Planning department at our Toronto office. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing inventory levels, developing process improvements, and scheduling independent demands. The ideal candidate is a production planning professional who has an eye for detail and excellent planning and problem-solving skills

What You Will Do

  • Maintain target levels of inventory by ordering purchased components and issuing job orders for fabrication and assembly
  • Manage inventory levels per company objectives to prevent product line shutdown or unplanned downtime
  • Develop process improvements to achieve company inventory goals
  • Schedule independent demand based on lead-times, load, and capacity
  • Schedule, contact, and expedite parts from internal work centers
  • Perform lot sizing and load levelling solutions to achieve efficient and effective work flow
  • Problem solve issues and develop corrective actions for process failures related to scheduling, planning, and execution
  • Expedite parts through the internal supply chain at the shop floor

What We Are Looking For

  • Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of production planning experience in an engineered-to-order manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Process Improvement and Inventory Management concepts
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Proficient in Oracle or a similar software
  • APICS Certification is an asset
