Job Summary
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Product Specialist. As part of the Sales Support Group, the Medium Voltage Metal Enclosed Switchgear Product Specialists are the liaisons between the sales team and customers. The group handles all quotes and orders for Metal-Enclosed Switchgear. The job of the Product Specialist requires someone who is comfortable with keeping multiple projects moving and up-to-date and has excellent organization and interpersonal skills to service the customer’s needs while keeping the best interests of S&C at the forefront.
What You Will Do
In this role you will develop knowledge of S&C’s products and Power Systems that support the utility market, renewable projects, and Smart-Grids. In addition, the successful candidate will:
- Manage projects from quotation to shipping stage
- Improve current processes using Lean Production System concepts and 4 Step Problem Solving methods
- Provide customers, Field Sales and Inside Sales with timely responses to technical, application, and commercial questions using resources within S&C
- Prepare price estimates and propose quotations and commercial strategies for each request
- Assist in interpreting customer specifications
- Follow through and meet commitments to customers
- Process sales orders
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a team player and a self-starter who is passionate about solving problems. In addition, the ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a Diploma in Electrical Engineering with experience working with switchgears
- 1-3 years of experience working with electrical equipment in either a technical design, commercial customer service, or manufacturing function
- Experience using Oracle
- Experience working with Low Voltage or High Voltage Switchgear products
- Basic understanding of electromechanical products and electrical concepts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, and Excel
