Inside Sales Representative (F/T – In person)

Inside Sales Representative (F/T – In person)

You are a highly organized individual with superior customer service skills. You take initiative in assisting our account managers to provide outstanding customer service through on-time inquiry completions, processing orders and expediting of information.

The role of Inside Sales support requires a high performance individual who excels at customer service. A high degree of self-motivation and commitment to excellence with help ensure success. Your time management skills are outstanding, you thrive in a busy environment and build productive and professional relationships.

As a central point of contact for the client as well as our Account Managers, you will be required to build and maintain excellent working relationships and work towards becoming a trusted advisor for our clients.

Primary Duties:

  • Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers via phone and email to understand their needs, provide product information, and recommend suitable solutions.
  • Sales Generation: Actively pursue sales opportunities with a focus on both new customer acquisition and maintaining strong relationships with existing customers.
  • Quotation Management: Prepare and deliver timely, accurate quotations that align with customer requirements and company pricing strategies.
  • Order Processing & Fulfillment:
  • Manage the full sales cycle — from initial inquiry to order entry, coordination with operations, and confirmation of shipment or delivery.
  • Check daily orders to confirm accurate shipment.
  • Provide customers with timely updates on order status as required.
  • Monitor and determine “hold status” in accordance with the Customer Service Hold Policy.
  • Review and process customer change notices promptly and accurately.
  • Inventory & Stock Support:
  • Provide real-time quotes and inventory updates on stock products.
  • Review and address the backorder report on a weekly basis.
  • Confirm availability and lead times by checking current stock.
  • Customer Support:
  • Resolve customer issues efficiently while maintaining high service levels.
  • Provide freight quotes when required.
  • Create and update new shipping addresses as needed.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with outside sales, applications engineering, operations, procurement and other departments to ensure alignment on customer needs and smooth project execution.
  • CRM & ERP System Use: Maintain accurate records in Microsoft Dynamics CRM and our SAP ERP system, including customer profiles, quotes, order entry and activity tracking.
  • Follow-Up & Reporting:
  • Proactively follow up on outstanding quotes and open customer requests.
  • Generate and share internal reports related to backorders, customer holds, or other key metrics as needed.
  • Market Knowledge: Stay informed about company products, competitor offerings, industry trends, and customer preferences to provide informed support and recommendations.

What skills/education is required?

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in inside sales, customer service, or a related field within the motors, controls, or industrial products industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Sales-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving targets and growing the customer base.
  • Computer Literacy; Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel & Word)
  • Experience with ERP systems and CRM software is preferred (SAP / MS Dynamics CRM).
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges and opportunities.
  • Problem solving skills with the ability to use initiative.
  • Prior experience with Electric Motors and/or Controls is desirable, but not required.
  • Bilingual in French/English would be an asset.

The successful candidate will be a motivated team player possessing a strong desire to succeed. Experience with Electric Motors, Controls and/or Industrial Sales is an advantage. A post secondary education in a related field and/or minimum 2 Years of experience in an Inside Sales environment and a bilingual candidate is preferable.

Position details:

Type of Position: Full-time – Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, In person role
Location: Cambridge, Ontario or Lachine, Quebec (either location is allowable)
Start Date: Immediately

You will report to the Stock Product Group Manager in our Edmonton, Alberta Office.
