Job Description
Purpose Statement
This position participates in the rejuvenation of medium to high voltage unground power cables using Southwire’s patented technologies and processes.
BASELINE JOB EXPECTATIONS
Operate TDR waveform and RF locating equipment to perform cable testing and analysis of cable paths, splice locations and neutral corrosion
Place and operate cable injection equipment on various sizes of de-energized cables apparatuses
Perform air flow tests
Perform Southwire patented rejuvenation methodologies in accordance with NRIs
Data entry, job planning, hazard avoidance and coordinate injection and digging activities
Enhance and advance a culture of zero incident safety culture and behavior.
Maintain rolling stock and equipment
Select Injection Adapters and cable accessories
Operate company vehicles and equipment as required
Carry out other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, EXPEREINCE AND SKILLS
High School Diploma
Years of experience 3+ years
Minimum education level, associates preferred
Other Preferred Skills, Licenses, & Certificates:
Commercial Driver’s License
Ability to read a circuit map, strong mechanical skills, basic construction skills
Passport and ability to travel to Canada/United States of America
Valid driver’s license and acceptable DMV record
Intermediate computer skills with entry level proficiency with/in MS Office applications
(Outlook, Word, Excel, internet/web)
WORKING CONDITIONS
Able and willing to travel on a regular basis
Able to lift, push, pull and carry at least 75 lbs. for a distance of 300 ft.
Able to stand, kneel and work in confined spaces for an extended period of time
Must be able to fit into a confined space rescue harness
Must conduct digging operations as required
Frequent sitting, standing and walking
Frequent exposure to seasonal elements
Conditions may vary based on assignment
